How to register a RHEL3 system to channel "Oracle Software for enterprise Linux"
There are channels "Channel: Oracle Software for Enterprise Linux 4" and "Channel: Oracle Software for Enterprise Linux 5" - there is not one for version 3.These channels do not contain contain licensed products such as the RDBMS - these you obtain in the normal way from eDelivery.oracle.com. They contain packages such as oracleasmlib, oracle-validated, instantclient etc.
Whilst RedHat provided an option on the anaconda installer to upgrade a system, they have never supported it. Likewise this is not supported or recommended by us - there are simply too many variants that can cause failure - e.g. incumbent packages that are dropped in later versions.
