We have an Oracle 9i Database installed on Windows 2003 with 8G RAM and  200G space on HP SAN storage. The Sun and vision applications owned by Infor Ltd uses the database.

We initially setup Oracle with the following parameters:

*.db_block_size=8192

*.db_cache_size=838860800

*.java_pool_size=167772160

*.job_queue_processes=10

*.large_pool_size=8388608

*.pga_aggregate_target=67108864

*.pga_aggregate_target=67108864 *.shared_pool_size=262144000

*.sort_area_size=1048576

with the parameters the system performance was adjudged to be good by users. But there is a report that is run on sun application and this report takes 48 hrs to complete. The Cache hit ratio is always graeter than 90%

Howdy, Stranger!
