Extending field length of segment in asset key flexfield

Hi,

We have used the length of 10 characters for one of the segments in our asset key flexfield for several years.

We have had a user request to extend this to more characters.  I understand that the maximum field length is 30 characters.

We only use it as an information field.  It is not used in reports to join to other fields/information/tables.   

Is anyone aware of any major implications for this type of change??
