How to populate Lead time of the Item in PO promised date or need-by date

Hi,
How can we populate the lead time that is defined in Items(Lead Times tab) during creation of the PO with the item in the lines? I did setup at postprocessing and also in fixed fields in the item(lead times tab). For example if lead time is 5 then during creation of the PO, the promised date or need by date should be 5+current date. Can anyone please share your experience and let me know how to achieve this?
