Dataguard gap

I am trying to test on fixing dataguard gap, but it is not successful, seems oracle fixes the gap automatically
Env:
10.2.0.4 physical standby.
1. shutdown standby db and listener.
2. switch log on production.
3. startup standby mount, but not recoverying.
4. I am able to see archivelogs from primary get transfered to standby, for example, archivelog100, 101, 102.
5. delete the archivelogs 100,101
6, switch log on production .
7. enable recoverying from standby.
I was hoping there is a gap, but seems the gap fixed automatically. Although I removed a few logs from standby, but they got re-transfered from primary server.
