how to read oracle trace files

Hello

Is there a document/book/article/anything with some pointers on how to read oracle trace file? Whenever I create an SR and upload a trace file, Oracle rep usually gets some useful information from that file. On a few occasions I have been able to get it too - when the info is on the surface like a SQL that triggerred an issue. But what I'd like to be able to do is to look through this file myself knowing what and where I should be looking for so that I may be able to even avoid creating an SR in the
