Relinking issue while installing oracle8i client on AIX 5.3

Hi
While installing oracle8i client in AIX 5.3 I am getting below error in relinking phase.

Error in invoking target install of makefile
/home/db2arc/oracle/product/817/sqlplus/lib/ins_sqlplus.mk

Error in invoking target install of makefile
/home/db2arc/oracle/product/817/sqlplus/lib/ins_net_client.mk

Error in invoking target install of makefile
/home/db2arc/oracle/product/817/sqlplus/lib/ins_net_server.mk

Error in invoking target install of makefile
/home/db2arc/oracle/product/817/network/lib/ins_net_server.mk

Error in invoking target install of makefile
