Failed to upgrade Oracle Cluster Registry configuration: Oracle 11

hi

i'm trying to install Oracle Clusterware in a VMware environment (this is strictly for testing).

i am installing linux.x64_11gR1_clusterware.zip 2 nodes

  uname (Linux tweedledee 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 4 20:19:25 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux)

  proc/version (Linux version 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5 (mockbuild@builder10.centos.org) (gcc version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-44)) #1 SMP Tue Aug 4 20:19:25 EDT 2009

)

on centos5 64 bit server using VMware fusion

the shared disk is a NFS mount from os x. 

everything went fine till the running of root.sh.  it ran fine on node1

node 2 gives the error  Failed to upgrade Oracle Cluster Registry configuration
