Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. MOSC will now require that member accounts in our community be associated to a *corporate* email address. Hi,

What does the following key words mean and related to SID, Global database name?

1) tnsames.ora

SERVICE_NAME = xxxxx

(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = kstdby1)) key could also be EXTPROC1521

(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = xxxxx)(PORT = 1521))

2) listener.ora

(GLOBAL_DBNAME = XXXX)
(SID_NAME = XXXX)
