Connection Manager CMAN.ORA file issue

 Hello, I am working with Oracle 11g on RHEL 5 platform. I am attempting to build a Connection Manager.

On the machine designated as the connection manager, I have copied the cman.ora from the sample

directory to $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin. The cman.ora file is correctly configured because it did start once.

However, on subsequent attempts to start,  it seems to be using an older copy of the cman.ora file. It seems to retain a 'memory'

of an old instance that it refers to whenever the 'administer  cman1' command is given. For example,  if I type 'administer cman1'
