I am trying to come up with oracle upgrade document. The following are the main highlights. Do you see any problem with the approach. I highly appreciate your help.
I am trying to come up with oracle upgrade document. The following are the main highlights. Do you see any problem with the approach. I highly appreciate your help.
Current AIX 4.3/Oracle 8.1.6 System upgraded to AIX 6.1.3 / Oracle 11.1.0 System.
· Take an export of the Current Production AIX 4.3/Oracle 8.1.6 database each night and Import it into the new 6.1.3 / Oracle 11.1.0 DATABASE until 6.1.3 / Oracle 11.1.0 becomes production.
· Review both DB’s to make sure all the information matches.
· System Team will have configured a similar Primary/Standby to the current one on the new systems
The upgrade is done by creating 11.1.0 database using dbca and import of 8.1.6 database into newly created 11.1.0 database. This approcah was taken because database is small.
