Call to hr_person_absence_api.update_person_absence not altering Life Event. How to alter them?

Hi,

     I am calling hr_person_absence_api.update_person_absence to update a pre-existing absence to make it a 2 -day absence. Though this is happening sucessfully the corresponding Life Event is not altered.

Is there any method to do that?
