recurring backups fail with "Param targetName not provided" version 10.2.0.4.0

I have scheduled backups using db console which ran fine until today.  sysman and dbsnmp are fine, and the OS userid/password has not changed either.  I keep getting "Param targetName not provided"  but have not made any changes to the INIT file.

Please advise,
