ASM Fine Striping

 Hi,


we are configuring a 2 node 10g RAC on Linux 5
we are using ASM
we will be creating 2 DISK GROUPS; +DATA and +FRA
+DATA would consist of 3 RAID-1 VOLUMES
+FRA would consist of 1 RAID-1 VOLUME

We have asked the sys admin to choose stripe size of 1MB for all RAID-1 VOLUMES

+FRA disk group would have the following:
1. one member of REDO LOG group
2. One copy of control file (we intend to keep one on +DATA disk group. Would you recommemend that or should we
   keep both the copies on +FRA?)
3. Archive Logs
4. RMAN backups

Assuming we will be using external redundancy for ASM disk groups
