Windows 2003 32 BIT - STANDARD EDITION - 4GT/ AWE
We have 2 Windows 2003 server 32 bit system with 6 GB of memory each
As part of the project, we will be installing 9i (9.2.0.7) on server # 1 and 10g R2 on server # 2
We have following questions regarding memory addressing / limitaions
1. Is it true that by default, irrespective of O/S memory, Windows 32 bit system can only allow Oracle to use 1.7 GB of RAM?
2. If above is true, does that include PGA or is that only SGA?. For example, in a 32 bit windows system, if we have 4 GB RAM on the server, would oracle be able to allocate 1.7 GB to SGA and 1.3 GB to PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET?
