Imp failes giving IMP-00037 errors

 Hi

I am trying to import using the old imp utility, but it fails with the following error message:
IMP-00037: Character set marker unknown
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully

I have used the folowing command:
imp ec1_log/sbfik file=WEBOCCURANCE_01_02.log LOG=web_01_02.log commit=Y buffer=2000000

Can anyone suggest me on this behaviour.
