Need examples on what oracle customers have done - how they have accomplished upgrading to newer if

 Hi ,

We have a cleint who has a very large Oracle footprint, with highly customized environment and significantly older version of Oracle (11.5.5 or 11.5.6)

The customer would like to eventually move to R12 in 2-3 years and would like to know the best aproach to achieve this.

We would like to know what other customers have done in similar situations, how they have accomplished upgrading to the newer (11.56.10 CU2) if not newest (R12) environment.
