is it possible to update AR Transaction after posting to GL

 Hi, I am unable to update some of the AR Transactions. What I feel is that the transactions which are not posted to GL are updatable whereas those which are posted to GL is un updatable. Can those transactions be updated?
What is the setup to do so?
