Single Node DB with future RAC capability

Hi,

I  want to create Oracle 10.2 single node instance on Linux Itanium platform with ASM feature. Right now I don't know about load on this server so it is possibility in near future to add more nodes to it.

So I want to know about feasibility to create single node database with RAC capability so that whenever we may need to add nodes then we should not need to delete the database or de-install the existing software.

If it is possible then I would like to know the steps to achieve it.
