Supplier Certification reminders

Does anyone know how to enable the certification reminders for suppliers?   On the Supplier form in release 12, there is a checkbox labeled 'Certification reminders'.  This is associated with a contact's user profile.   Have not found much documentation on this.  There appears to be a workflow within the Internal Controls Manager module (ICM reminder), but it is not really setup, i.e. no processes, functions, pre-defined messages, etc.  Trying to determine what needs to be setup for this, and if there is a process, outside of the normal workflow process, to invoke for this.
