Data Guard and an Embedded DB

Hi, We are considering Data Guard and I need to know more information about how to set it up.  Do you recommend any documentation ?

Primary question, is the oracle database on the physical standby  installed the same as the primary db ? Will it work with embedded primary and standby databases ?
