Duplicate a database without backup

Hello Everyone
Does anybody knows if it's possible to duplicate/clone a database without using a rman backup  (using rman off course)  ??
All conventional methods for duplicate/clone a database use a backup as a source. It's possible to use the 'live' database for this cloning process ??
Hot backup it's not a good answerrr LOL!!!
