Item Master Visibility across Inventory Orgs in Purchasing with single Operating Unit

Oracle R12 Scenario

Multiple Inventory Organizations default to single Operating Unit

How can we enable visibility to transact against Items created in the Item Master and assigned to various inventory orgs?

Metalink indicates that under Financial Options - Operating Unit - the default Inventory Org is the only Inventory Org that will allow purchasing transactions (requisition template create for items, iProcurement Main Store search for inventory items).

Anyone have any suggestions?
