Can Oracle Approval management (AME) be used for Projects Approvals

 Hi All, I know that Oracle AME can be used for configuring complex workflows for transaction approvals like i-exp etc.

We are trying to build a complex approval heirarchy for Capital Projects, based on the budgets assigned to the projects.
Can AME be also used for Projects Approvals ?
Because, there is no standard Transaction Type available in AME for Projects application.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
