   Hi,

 

I am aware of three different protection modes that Data Guard offers and their pros and cons.  For those production DBAs who has implemented Data Guard I would like to hear your experience:

1) Which protection mode do you  choose to implement? Please specify your database server version.

2) What is the DG performance over failover like how long does it take to complete, and how the acknowledgement in SYNC mode affect the performance if applies, etc?

3) Which method do you use to install DG:  Grid Control, DG Broker, or SQL*PLUS?

4) Which method do you use to monitor DG:  Grid Control, DG Broker, SQL*PLUS, or possible a third party software?
