APEX Login issues

 I am trying to configure APEX on an 11.1.0.7 database.

I installed the new version of APEX (3.2) and made sure all the accounts in the database are unlocked and recompiled all the invalid objects.

When I login using IE to the server: .../apex/apex_admin I get the Application Express Administration Services page but it has an error at the bottom:

Line: 53

Char: 5

Error: Object expected.

In addition, entering the admin/password does not do anything...

This issue matches a known problem (Note 444333.1) with the images directory missing images (or the HTTP server is missing an alias to the images directory).
