Disaster Recovery plan test and cloning

 Hi,

I need help in testing the Disaster Recovery plan. I was asked to test the disaster recovery plan for my production system on new machine . I got the new system machine with the same configuration of production. ( same partitions , DB version ..etc) and Oracle is also installed on that.  Can you please help me to test my disaster recovery plan setup.  Please also let me know if  I am wrong or miss any steps.  I also have a question: Do I have to shutdown the primary database while copying the database to new database? or do you suggest
