Is there way to restrict PGA to particualr size? If yes then what will be the impact of implementing

This is terabyte database. Some adhoc parallel query causes very high PGA and server hangs due to out of memory.
My question is,

Is there way to restrict PGA to particualr size? If yes then what will be the impact of implementing it on system?

Our database is 10.2.0.4v and our OS is IBM AIX
