Problem with Deal modifier in Advanced Pricing

While trying to created a Deal modifier, unable to find the previously defined modifiers in the parent no field of advanced tab of modifier header definition. While selecting from the list of values in this field 'List of values contain no entries' is the message displayed. Please update how we could invoke the previously defined discount modifiers in the new modifier for Deal. Any pointers in this direction is appreciated.
