paying contractor's with service contract

I saw in an oracle demo a while back where they created service contracts where they used contractors to provide the work/service/repair.  Service contracts then created an AR invoice to the customer, but then some how they configured the system so that the service contract also feed something to AP to cut a check for the contractor providing the service, which was setup as a vendor in Oracle.
