oracle update question

 
our db is  11.1.0.6 rac in suse 10

we see that  a  Bug 6851110 - ASMB process memory leak

Fixed:
This issue is fixed in 11.1.0.6 Patch 11 on Windows Platforms
11.1.0.7 RAC Recommended Patch Bundle #1
11.1.0.7.1 (Patch Set Update)
11.2.0.1 (Base Release)

i have two question .

we have already  db in 11.1.0.6  . so we have two choice .

1.update from 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.7.1 , i guest crs and db in the samepatchset ,so means update to 11.1.7.1 can resolve this question ,

did i need  first update to 11.1.0.7.0 ,then  update to 11.1.0.7.1 , or just  directly update from 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.7.1?

2.create new db with 11.2.0.1 ,seem that db may need recreate
