Deleting manufacturer parts and manufacturers

 Hi,
We have duplicate manufacturers that need to be removed.  I created an MCO to update the MPNs with the correct manufacturer, but when I go to delete the old duplicate MPNs, the system is giving me an error that the MPN is still being used.   Is this a bug or am I missing something?
