Oracle 11g advantages & disadvantages

Hi,

I would like to know the pros & cons of using Oracle 11g Compression & Encryption.

Does the compression & Encryption has any performance issues?

Does the compression & Encryption are part of Oracle11g enterprise edition? or are they licensed separately?

Will the search index works with encryption feature in 11g?

Please share more thoughts about advantages & disadvantages
