cloning a database
Hi;
I have successfully cloned a database from one server to another and renamed the sid appropriately. The process was relatively simple in that the file systems on both servers were named the same and had equal amounts of space. Also, this was done without rman, it was done with putting tablespaces in backup mode, copying the files, etc...you know the old way.
My question is that this simplicity will not always be the case and I forgot at what point when I am cloning do I rename datafiles if they are copied to a different location on the target server?
