Consecutive RMAN Restores

I'm testing restoration/recovery with RMAN from Grid Ctl.  I can do a full DB recovery to a prior point in time just fine.  If, for example, I want to try it again but go to a time 1 hour before or after the time I just tried, I run into the problem of logs being reset.  I'm looking for a procedure to do another point-in-time recovery if the first one is not the correct time.  Do I need to change the incarnation of the DB?  Before I do that, do I need to restore a control file from BEFORE my
