How do I see more than the 10 most recent postings in a community?

MOS only shows the 10 most recent postings, many times that only represents 1 or 2 discussions. 

How can I view more than these 10?  Can I see a view that doesn't show the individual responses to a single discussion.  The initial posting and the number of reponses would be really useful.
