Database 's Developer request version

Hi,

I'm following the note 423056.1 in order to upgrade from 9i to 10g with 11.5.9 application

i want to confirm if 'i've to upgrade or keep the Developper 6i (8..0.6.21) or must to upgrade it to patch set 17 as indicate in step1 "Verify Softwareversions" because we're going to keep the 11.5.9 with 10g database ?

Thnks for any help or guideline .
