Reporting Prior Year Comparison with changing Year ending

 I wanted to know if anyone had experience with P&L reporting when the reporting periods have changed from Fiscal Year to a Calendar Year. 

We will have a short year this July to Dec 2009, then start a full calendar year for 2010.  When preparing reports with prior year comparisions, I am unable to get the prior information to be presented with a YTD total because of the prior fiscal year.  In other words, in my test reporting, the prior year comparison is basically a look back in terms of the column set in Oracle.  I need Oracle to start the YTD comparison with a January 2009 start month and going forward, not July 2008 our previous Fiscal year starting month, or the short
