Is there a way to get an empty Dashboard

I am looking for ways to improve my MOS experience.  For me that means viewing/transmitting to the absolute minimum that I need to do my job.  So I will be asking questions over the next while specifically to help me remove wehat I perceive to be unneeded aspects.

This question:

When I log on to MOS, I am greeted by a Dashbard page.  It includes what appears to be an alert trying to encorage me to learn about avoiding potential outages, and two copies of the News portlet. 

In my previous attempts, I removed all the portlets/areas that I could eliminate.
