11g Data Guard and number of instances

I was trying to figure out if I'm limited to one oracle instance when I use dataguard or if I can have multiple instances and still use dataguard?

I have windows 2008 Ent with Oracle 11g Ent and I would like to have two instances on the primary server, but I thought I read somewhere that if I use data guard, I can only have one instance on the primary - can someone confirm this please?  Thanks
