 Hi,

I am trying to install 10g r2 rac on IBM X3650 server (2 CPU 2.6 GHZ, 6GB memory, 2 SAS 140 hdd 15k rpm) using vmware and Oracle ent linux 4.

I installed host o/s OEL 4.0 and then vmware on top of it.

Created two OEL 4 nodes and configured shared disk as per http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/OracleDB10gR2RACInstallationOnCentos4UsingVMware.php article.

Result is , CRS installation goes fine and post-crs, one of the node hangs and reboots becuase of shared disk or reasons unknown. I have tried many times and result is the same. I followed many posts on the same and increased some vmware parameter values in vmx which helps to increase timeout value. This also didnt help. Both the RAC nodes become dead-slow and hang.

Howdy, Stranger!
