Not creating datafile during restore

 Hello All,

Whenever we do restore in 10gR2 10.2.0.4,Some restore is throwing error like" no backup of datafile datafilenumber" even though we have archivelog and next incremental backups.and restore is getting failed.

Some time it is automatically creating the datafiles during the restore.We couldnot understand the behaviour of the restore.

Could you please let me how to avoid this issue.
