Dedicated or Shared Server processes

   I do not know if there is a definite answer to this but I inherited a database for an application that is currently setup as a dedicated server.

There are anywhere from 1 to 10 users in any given scenario actually logged into the application but they are usually just running reports or

viewing data. All the processing occurs from automatic data gathering from up to 1 million separate data sources. The application recieves data

through up to 8 T1s and hundreds of comm ports then stuffs it into the oracle database. Would it be beneficial for the server to be shared since there
