FAXOLFIN Remaining Life in years, months is incorrect for at least one value

Asset with Remaining_Life_In_Months = 57 displays (4 years, 9 months) in the Asset Workbench form (FAXASSET) and (3 years, 9 months) in the Inquiry form (FAXOLFIN).  The two forms agreed last month, when the remaining life was 58 months (4 years, 10months).  This seems odd.  What is the algorithm that is used?  What is the corrective action?  Has this been encountered before?
