ADI journal upload hangs

We are having and issue with our production server where journal entries will reach the point of passing line xx to the server and then the process will hang and the program shows as not responding in the task manager.  This started suddenly this morning after some journals uploaded successfully early in the day.  Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   

I should add that:

1.  it is affecting all users at all locations.

2.  users can upload to test instances without the issue occuring.
