Document Server Installation

From the documentation, we have to install Ms Office (i.e Word) on the Document server. Question:

1. Is this necessary to install Ms Office on the Document server and if so, why do we need to do this?

2. When a user is logged into Siebel via the Web Client and generates a correspondence, does the application use the Ms Word installed on the document server or the Ms Word on the users local machine.

3. Is the operating system Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition (32-bit) supported for the installation of the document server.
