Why does every connected session use 20MB before even doing something ?

in 10gR2, every session was using 5MB at connect, now in 11g it's 20MB. As we currently have 6000 sessions and will get up to 12'000 next week, this is going to kill us ! (240GB memory, just for being connected ...) please advise !
