Updating Expenditure Categories for Existing Expenditure Types

 Hi,

Our client has been running Projects for a while and would like to chage the expenditure category reference for some of their non-labor expenditure types.  I know that the only way to do this without invoking a script or set of scripts is end date the existing expenditure types and create new ones and reference those to the new expenditure categories.  Has anyone ever tried to do this via a script or API without end dating the existing expenditure types and simply modifying the existing ones?
