How to turn off e-Business Tax?

The tax tables are some of our biggest in terms of disk space. Yet we are feeding the tax entries from another system and do not Oracle's functionality. Can we turn off the e-Business tax entries, or alternatively purge the tax tables? We are using predominantly Receivables, and Payables.
