Reservation against Purchase Order

Hello,

could anyone tell me if it is possible to create an inventory reservation against a not received Purchase Order in 11i? For this specific part of the business we don't have Oracle Order Management implemented, and for now the plan is to make manual reservations in OA Inventory for any confirmed sales order in the legacy system. Anyway, there is a need to make reservations against purchased material that is not yet reveived. I don't seem to be able to make such a reservation; I'm using 'Inventory' as the demand source, and can't change the supply type to 'Purchase Order' -
